Between the Cervin and the Mont-Blanc lies the warm and sunny town of Finhaut!

Boasting only 374 permanent residents, the town of Finhaut is nestled in the St-Maurice district, on the left side of the deep Trient Valley.
Finhaut is famous for its colossal dam, which is prized by trekkers, fishing enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

Facing the Mont-Blanc, the sunny terraces of the town harbours three more villages,

namely Giétroz, Châtelard Villlage-and-Châtelard Frontier. Sharing a common border

with France, Finhaut is adjacent to Trient, Salvan, Vallorcine (F) and Sixt (F). Its territory

stretches from the shores of Trento and the Black Water to 900 meters to the top of the

tip of the Finive to 2837 meters. It comprises 2,293 hectares consisting mainly of dense

forests, alpine horizons and  sharp rocks.

A TREASURE LIES WITHIN

Finhaut was a major alpine resort in the early 20th century, although the town is now

better known for its preserved natural heritage, its dinosaur tracks, dams with a panoramic

view over the Mont Blanc, the world's steepest two-cabin funicular and its built heritage

have been given national importance status.
