Giétroz

The hamlet of Giétroz has kept its traditional character and flavor. Notably, there is the oldest construction of the valley dating back to 1672.

The entrance is marked by two Giétroz large buildings, the Eden and the Terminus hotels. Nearby is La Casita, a former boarding school for girls transformed into guest rooms. A short tunnel under the historic cable car line leads to the heart of the village. Since 1966, a chapel occupies the former dairy factory in the village.


At work in the late 19th century, ancient tombs have been discovered. They suggest that Giétroz is long lived. Early writings indicate a permanent home yet back in the early 14th century.
