Emosson dam (1931 m)

Built between 1967 and 1975, the Emosson dam on the Gueulaz Pass is the third largest dam in Switzerland, and is the starting point for numerous walks.
The Emosson dam offers uninterrupted panoramic views of Mont Blanc.

The waters from the Mont Blanc massif flow into the reservoir, which has a capacity of 225 million m³. The dam wall is 180 metres high, and the crest is 554 metres in length. When the reservoir is full, it submerges the former Barberine dam, built in 1925, by a depth of 42 metres.
